Engineering-geological survey

We perform engineering-geological survey  for various construction projects, varying from family houses to poly-functional objects:

  • verification of geological composition
  • verification of subsoil and embankment compactness
  • check of thickness and quality of old foundations and walls using core drilling
groundwater impact on the building construction
  • soil-mechanical properties of subsoil – shear parameters, strength and deformation parameters
  • opportunity of groundwater pumping and infiltration of surface water
  • designing the subsoil of roads
  • opportunities of subsoil improving
  • monitoring of geodynamic movements and movements of building structures – geomonitoring
  • inclinometer measurements
  • engineering micro-seizmic measurements - refractive, MASW
  • cone penetration tests CPT, CPTU

Compaction control

While performing construction projects we need to move a lot of earth masses, usually excavating and creating an embankment subsequently. To prevent deformation of the embankment and to ensure stability of the edges of embankment and cut the quality control of soil as well as the compaction control is needed. If the quality of embankment or subsoil processing is underestimated,  the subseqent rehabilitation/remediation is much more costly.

  • static load tests using plates of 300, 357 (0,1 m2), 504,5 (0,2 m2), 600, 762 mm in diameter
  • impact loading test 300 mm
  • specific weight in situ – direct method
  • light dynamic penetration test DPL-5, DPL-10 to 8 m depth
  • determining permeability in situ – for infiltration systems, mineral insulating layers etc.

Soil and rock mechanics laboratory

We perform laboratory work for soil and rock mechanics:

  • determining the moisture content of rocks and soils
  • determining of soil granularity
  • bulk density of rocks and soil
  • bulk specific gravity
  • determining the limits of plasticity and fluidity
  • porosity and water absorption
  • sensitivity of soils in contact with water
  • carbonate content in soil
  • organic content of the soil
  • determining the strength of simple compression
  • determining the rate of compactibility – Proctor Standart
  • Bearing Ratio test CBR, IBI
  • determination of soil permeability
  • determination recipe for soil improvement with hydraulic binders
  • direct shear tests
  • deformability - oedometer tests
  • swelling test

Soil mechanics calculation

Soil mechanics calculations verify and model the interaction of constructions and bedrock. By calculating it is possible to verify the stability of slopes and cuts. Of course we calculate the bearing capacity of the subsoil for the shallow and pile foundation, too.

We use the calculation method – finite element method (FEM), which is a tool for modeling the deformation and stability of rock environment.

  • calculation of the bearing capacity of foundation soil
  • calculation of the settlement of foundation soil
  • slope stability analysis
  • calculating the stability of underground spaces
  • calculating a reinforced embankments and slopes
  • calculating the stability of the pile and cased walls including groundwater flow
  • calculating of the stability and the deformation of retaining walls
  • 3D terrain modeling and creating 2D profiles
  • calculating the susceptibility to soil liquefaction under seizmic loads

Agro-technical analysis

For farmers we offer agro-technical analysis of soils. Verified agro soil parameters help to effectively dispose of fertilizers, liming the soil and crop adjusting to soil characteristics. Agro-technical analysis help to use soil properties for maximum, for higher yields and  efficient use of fertilizers and support materials for soil.

  • determining of soil granularity
  • soil porosity
  • carbonate content in soil
  • organic content of the soil
  • determining of macro-elements: potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus
